Please Join us to Celebrate the Launch of Give an Hour Healthy Minds Fairfax

Since 2005, Give an Hour providers have given over 252,000 hours of no-cost mental health care to service members, veterans and their families valued at over $25M.  Over the last few years, we have begun to expand our efforts through a number of new initiatives focused on at-risk youth, those affected by natural and man-made disasters, and survivors of gun violence.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new partnership with Healthy Minds Fairfax (HMF), Fairfax County, and the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia to provide no-cost mental health services to income eligible children and youth between the ages of 5 to 21.

To celebrate the launch of this new initiative, Give an Hour Healthy Minds Fairfax invites you to join us for a private screening of the documentary, Into the Light on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at 6:30 PM to 9 PM. Into the Light, shares the story of Brendan O’Toole, a former Marine from Fairfax County, Virginia as he struggles to assimilate back into society after returning from war and Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, Founder and President of Give an Hour, as she comes to the realization that she needs to share her own story. The film’s purpose is simple and direct: to serve as a conversation starter for millions of people as we change the culture around mental health, mental illness and emotional well-being.

There will be a panel discussion after the screening, moderated by Into the Light Director Charles Stuart and featuring Give an Hour Founder and President, Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen and Give an Hour Healthy Minds Fairfax Provider, Dr. Diane Hoekstra. Popcorn and soda will be provided.

Please join us for this moving film and critical conversation as we celebrate the launch of the Give an Hour Healthy Minds Fairfax initiative. Please note seating is limited.
